Comments from readers about this book |
Grieving comes in many forms. Most of us think of
death when we think of grieving, but grief can be caused by many things.
Everyday events such as moving, weddings, change in jobs, loss of a pet,
graduations, broken dreams, broken homes, bankruptcy, loss of youth,
divorce ... all cause grief. Tragedies like critical illness, accident,
natural disasters, handicaps and acts of terrorism expose us to
overwhelming grief. The proces of grieving has many faces.
In Mourning Glory, A Devotional to Grieving,
Diana and Lorelle reveal how they struggled with grief and its many
faces. They share a personal experience in each chapter.
Sincerely
Diana

Comments
from readers about the exercises and book |
"I came to know God only through the
pain of addiction -- when I desperately needed Him. I was a "low
bottom" drunk with one foot on a banana peel and the other in the
grave. If there was an idea of God deep inside me, I never knew it.
I drank for twenty years alcoholically.
During the last seven years of that time, I "sped my bottom"
by adding prescription drugs -- mostly diet pills and Valium, but some
street drugs too. The last year of my drinking, my husband left me, I
landed in jail twice on drunk and disorderly charges, and I attempted
suicide several times....
My sponsor in AA,
Joy, offered me a way
-- one that I now offer to anyone in crisis
who truly desires to discover this "power greater than
ourselves." There are other ways to get to know God, of course, but
I can tell you only about the one that worked for me." she noted
about these exercises.

Diana Burg
